Since its establishment, Aragon has pursued a mission to be a global provider of innovative solutions and services for sustainable processing systems within the energy market. Building on this foundation, entering the New Energies and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) markets was a natural progression.
Since 2018, Aragon has successfully developed and delivered numerous New Energies projects, ranging from pilot-scale initiatives to utility-scale facilities for hydrogen and ammonia production. Several of these projects are now operational, supplying green hydrogen directly to the consumer market.

Aragon’s New Energies portfolio focuses on advancing sustainability and decarbonization through two primary domains:
1. Sustainable Fuels Production
Aragon is at the forefront of producing sustainable fuels to support the global transition to cleaner energy. Key focus areas include:
- Blue and Green Hydrogen
- Blue and Green Ammonia
- Methanol
- Synthetic LNG
The goal is to decarbonize the existing hydrogen market and its carriers while addressing the evolving needs of the future energy landscape and the maritime fuel sector.
2. Clean Power Generation
Aragon is revolutionizing power generation with innovative technologies designed to reduce carbon emissions and enhance energy efficiency. Core initiatives include:
- Natural Gas to Power with Gas Turbines and CCS
- Natural Gas to Power with Fuel Cells and CCS
- LNG as fuel for Fuel Cells and CCS
- Ammonia to Power
Through these efforts, Aragon aims to lead the charge in creating a sustainable, decarbonized power sector.
Expertise in Ammonia Production
Aragon has extensive experience in both land-based and floating ammonia production facilities, with a clear understanding of the advantages and challenges associated with each. While land-based facilities represent the current industry standard, floating applications offer significant opportunities with reduced CAPEX, lead time and project related risks, particularly in scenarios where geographic or resource constraints apply.
Pioneering Solutions for Floating Green and Blue Ammonia Production
Aragon has developed cutting-edge solutions for both green and blue ammonia production, addressing the diverse needs of the ammonia industry based on available energy resources.
Amalia: Green Ammonia FPSO
Amalia is a fully self-contained, floating green ammonia production, storage, and offloading facility. It harnesses renewable energy and seawater as the sole external inputs, producing refrigerated green ammonia for export to the global market. Key onboard technologies include:
- Gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear and transformer systems
- PEM electrolysis for hydrogen production, featuring rapid turndown capabilities
- An optimized Haber-Bosch ammonia process for efficient operations
- A cryogenic nitrogen generation system with integrated liquid nitrogen buffer storage
Amalia 300 MVA – Green Ammonia FPSO (available in different sizes and configurations)
Bluebell: Blue Ammonia FPSO
Bluebell is a world-scale, floating blue ammonia production, storage, and offloading facility. It utilizes a natural gas reforming process with >95% carbon capture to produce refrigerated blue ammonia for global export. Key onboard process technologies include:
- Natural gas pre-treatment and oxygen-blown autothermal reforming (ATR)
- Integrated CO2 capture and liquefaction systems
- Syngas purification and the Haber-Bosch ammonia process
- Onboard air separation units designed for floating installations, generating pure oxygen and nitrogen with liquid buffer storage
- Ultra-pure water generation from seawater for reforming processes
